One of my first mentors in business was my high school best friend’s dad, Baby Grip (if you want to know how he got his nickname keep reading). When we launched Dapper Joe Greek Life, Baby Grip was the CEO of the first screenprint factory we worked with. He was also our sales mentor and taught us a lot of the tools that got us to where we are today.
The first idea he drilled into my head was the idea of a Win - Win situation. In sports, you always have a loser. You know going into the game that someone is going to lose. In business you never want either party to lose. That’s what makes capitalism awesome. If a business is engaging in a Win - Lose situation, whether they are losing or the customer is losing, they quickly go out of business.
After being on both the Win and Lose side of a Win - Lose situation in our business, we quickly realized that Win - Win is the only way to operate a business. And that’s our mission. At the end of every transaction we are apart of, we want to Win and we want our customers to Win. That means you, the customer, get exactly what you need and we, the business, make a little money so we can keep doing our thing. Boom. Everyone is happy because everyone wins. And that’s the name of the game.
And in the event that you don’t get exactly what you need, or you feel that you didn’t Win (because mistakes do happen), we will do everything we can to make it right.
